Obsequio Group receives investment from Beech Tree Private Equity.
The deal.
We advised the shareholders of Obsequio Group (Obsequio), on its investment from Beech Tree Private Equity (Beech Tree). Beech Tree’s investment, supported by an additional acquisition facility from Beechbrook Capital, will support Obsequio’s ambitious organic growth strategy, as well as provide additional funding for further M&A.
Headquartered in Leicestershire, and founded by Simon Cashmore and Simon Abley, Obsequio currently trades under its three core brands of CDS, Genex and Drax. The combined Group provides a range of technology driven compliance solutions to ensure the environments where people spend their time, whether to live, learn or work in, are completely safe.
Obsequio’s customers include hospitals, universities, local authorities, leisure centres and student accommodation providers who all place their trust in Obsequio’s highly skilled engineers to supply, test and maintain safety systems across fire detection and protection, water quality management, security, electrical safety and energy efficiency.
Having already acquired six businesses over the last two years, Obsequio is eager to acquire more complementary businesses in the life safety and compliance services.

Our role.
After spending time with the founders of the business to understand their personal and business objectives, and the type of partner they wanted to work alongside, we were engaged to secure private equity investment to provide funding for further acquisitions to supercharge their growth plans.
From initial coffees with potential investors, we ran an extremely efficient process drawing on our rich heritage in private equity. Beech Tree were selected early on as the preferred partner, and we worked closely with them through the due diligence and legal process resulting in the closing of the transaction within three months from the first meeting.
We delivered an exceptional deal for the shareholders, securing an aligned investor in Beech Tree who have a shared heritage in buy and build and bring complementary skills into the boardroom along with significant further capital for future M&A.
