St. Modwen Logistics, a leading logistics developer and manager, is today celebrating the completion of the first phase of a £46.5m project to bring sustainable, high-quality warehouse space to Derby.
The development – which has been delivered by Winvic and will see the transformation of 67-acres of brownfield site as part of a partnership between St. Modwen Logistics, Derby City Council and Network Rail – expects to bring up to 1,250 jobs to the area and will provide a crucial boost to the local economy as it bids to be selected as one of the government’s newly announced investment zones.
Research has shown that over the last five years, demand for industrial and logistics space in the North and the Midlands has accounted for 70% of the country’s total requirements, with the East Midlands accounting for 19% of demand in this period1, making Derby perfectly positioned to capitalise on these opportunities and help the city’s economy to grow.
St. Modwen Park Derby comprises four units totalling 303,000 sq ft and was opened at an event alongside a host of local dignitaries including Amanda Solloway, MP for Derby North; Chris Poulter, Leader of Derby Council; and the Mayor of Derby, Councillor Robin Wood.
