A jobs and skills fair aimed at getting Gloucester residents into the world of logistics will take place on the 8th November.
Hosted by St. Modwen Logistics, a leading logistics developer and manager, the fair will showcase the wide variety of roles available in a sector which currently employs 3.8m people across the UK and is one of the fastest growing employment sectors in the country.
The fair is hosted in conjunction with Generation Logistics, a pioneering industry-led and Government-backed campaign which aims to bring the sector together to help change perceptions and increase the number of people applying for roles in logistics and transport going forwards.
As well as traditional warehousing roles, a career in logistics can be across a multitude of different disciplines including warehouse operations, drivers, transport operations, sustainability, IT and automation, finance, and sales and marketing.
The event is open to the general public and is suitable for anybody searching for a role whether they are school-leavers looking for their first steps into work, a graduate looking to utilise their qualifications, people looking to get back into work after an absence, those seeking a complete career change or students looking for part-time roles to supplement their studies.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet some of the biggest employers and companies in the local region, understand the variety of roles currently available, get information on training opportunities and get advice on how their skills can help an industry which kept the country moving throughout the recent pandemic.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to fill out this form, but can also turn up on the day. Local schools, colleges and other big groups are very welcome to attend and parking can be arranged.
