St. Modwen Logistics, one of the UK’s leading logistics developers and managers, has seen accelerated customer growth in Gloucester, as businesses look to scale up warehouse space in the region. It comes at a time when warehouse take-up in the South West has surged, hitting 25% above the three-year annual average.*
Throughout the development of its Gloucester parks, St. Modwen Logistics has seen high demand for additional warehouse and manufacturing space from a number of existing customers. These include footwear specialist, Gardiner Brothers & Co, the UK’s leading direct-to-consumer kitchenware brand, ProCook, and manufacturer of heating, cooling and water treatment products, ADEY Innovation. In total, the three customers now occupy 546,000 sq. ft of space, with some businesses tripling their operational functionality.
Since signing a deal for its first 30,000 sq. ft facility in Gloucester in 2008, Gardiner Brothers & Co. has experienced gradual expansion and the need for additional space – taking a further 207,000 sq ft across three units. Two of these were built to the business’ specific requirements, including a three-floor mezzanine which is used for product storage and its ‘pick and pack’ function to fulfil online orders.
Similarly, ProCook has recently signed a deal for its third facility in Gloucester. The company purchased a 41,000 sq. ft unit at St. Modwen’s Gateway 12 development and, after more than 10 years of continuous growth, signed a deal for an additional 56,000 sq. ft unit at St. Modwen Park Gloucester.
Having recently been ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces in 2022, ProCook has since signed a deal for a new 167,000 sq. ft warehouse. Here, ProCook will consolidate its operations from its two existing premises, bringing its 220 employees together in one location where they will enjoy their own gym, staff canteen, access to outdoor green space and a fitness trail.
