St. Modwen Logistics, one of the UK’s leading logistics owners and developers, has welcomed third-party fulfilment company, Huboo, to St. Modwen Park Chippenham. The new, sustainable warehouse, which was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on 7th July, will allow the growing business to meet additional capacity requirements, with over 400 jobs being generated for the local area.
The 106,000 sq ft warehouse comes as Huboo has seen a rapid increase in demand for its services following a surge in eCommerce. As a result, the business now employs almost 700 people and has shipped more than nine million products in the last 12 months alone.
Becoming Huboo’s largest facility to date – double the size of any of its existing warehouses in the UK – the space will enable the business to effectively implement its unique micro-hub model which enables online retailers of all sizes to access an end-to-end fulfilment operation within minutes. It also utilises software to drive a smarter, more efficient and human-centric warehouse.
Like all St. Modwen Logistics’ parks, St. Modwen Park Chippenham is built to the St. Modwen Swan Standard which puts the environment and employee wellbeing at its core. This includes BREEAM Excellent standard and EPC A rated buildings, as well as electric vehicle charging points which are provided for employee use. The wider park includes a trim trail around the full perimeter of the site, complete with fitness equipment, benches with solar-powered charging points. Biodiversity across the park has also been fully considered and enhanced.
